The Child Care Division:
|
- works with government agencies as well as land and premises owners to provide premises for setting up of child care centres and student care centres
- funds Voluntary Welfare Organisations for the setting up and maintenance of centres
- regulates and licenses child care centres under the Child Care Centres Act and Child Care Centres Regulation
- administers the government child care and infant care subsidy scheme
- formulates and reviews child care policies in Singapore
- promotes the professional development and standards of early childhood educators
- promotes developmentally-appropriate and evidence-based child development and learning in child care centres
- promotes research in early childhood care and development
