MCYS Scholarships in Early Childhood Care and Education |
To raise the quality of early childhood education, MCYS will be providing scholarships for masters, degree and diploma courses in early childhood care and education to help child care supervisors/ teachers obtain higher professional qualifications.
The scholarships will be available from 2009 to 2013, and are tenable for courses at National Institute of Education, SIM University, SEED Institute and Ngee Ann Polytechnic. The awards are only available for in-service child care supervisors/ teachers registered as teaching staff in MCYS-licensed child care centres.

Enhancements To The Centre-Based Financial Assistance Scheme For Childcare (w.e.f 1 Jan 09) |
In order to ensure that childcare remains affordable for all low-income families, and to encourage mothers to seek employment so that their families can achieve self-reliance, the CFAC scheme will be enhanced with effect from 1 January 2009. The assistance is on top of the universal Government childcare subsidy for working mothers, which was recently enhanced from $150 to $300 per month.
